Preparing for Día de los Muertos

I took down my artwork “El sueño americano”from Petaluma Arts Center, and the portrait of “Dountes” from O’Hanlon Center for the Arts. I appreciate all the positive feedback I received about these pieces!

I am now preparing to set up two altars for Día de los Muertos.

“El agua no entiende de fronteras” will be part of the Day of the Dead show and celebration at MCCLA in San Francisco. This altar will include portraits of the children who passed away after being held in U.S. detention centers.

I am also working on an altar installation to be included in SOMArts' Day of the Dead group show "City of Souls." The show as a whole will be a space to honor and reflect on loss in the city of San Francisco. I will be reflecting on homelessness in my piece titled “Tent City of Souls."

I will add photos of the process shortly!
